3 Tips For a Successful Non-Profit Video

By July 9, 2015September 16th, 2015Uncategorized

When you run a non-profit, one of the biggest challenges is communicating your organization’s vision, and the heart behind the work, in a way that connects them to who you are.

Pictures and PowerPoint presentations are wonderful, but when you are out fundraising, having a short video can be the most powerful tool in your fundraising toolkit! We were blessed to be able to travel to Africa to help Cherish Uganda tell their story.

Here are 3 tips for making a successful non-profit fundraising video, one that will connect your viewers to the vision of your organization.

  • Don’t make your video too long! We have seen the best results with videos that aren’t longer than 2min30sec. That can seem like a really short amount of time to squeeze all your info into your video, but that leads us to the next tip.
  • Don’t try and explain everything about your non-profit in one fundraising video, the #1 purpose of your video should be to make a connection with your viewer! Not to inform them, your viewer won’t really listen until you have connected with them. Connect first, then give them a little information, don’t overload them.
  • Keep it simple. We have the best film results when we keep the story simple, when we don’t try and focus on too many things, shoot at too many locations or cram in too much information.

We hope these 3 tips help you as you plan out your fundraising video! If you have any questions regarding your non-profit fundraising video please feel free to contact us. We love helping to tell inspiring stories.

I believe that there are great stories everywhere, they just need to be told.
